Two - Dimensional Regular Languages and Their Syntactic Characterization

چکیده
In this paper, we deal with two-dimensional rectangular arrays for representing row and column structures such as symbol tables, spreadsheets, etc. Firstly we formalize the two-dimensional regular languages by pairs of regular expressions for rows and columns. Next we also introduce context-sensitive graph grammars called labeled grid graph grammars, which characterize the two-dimensional regular languages. We note that the labeled grid graph grammars directly identify the two-dimensional regular languages. Furthermore, we show examples. AMS Subject Classification: 68Q42, 68Q45

TOPOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION FOR FUZZY REGULAR LANGUAGES
We present a topological characterization for fuzzy regular languages: we show that there is a bijective correspondence between fuzzy regular languages and the set of all clopen fuzzy subsets with finite image in the induced fuzzy topological space of Stone space (Profinite space), and then we give a representation of closed fuzzy subsets in the induced fuzzy topological space via fuzzy regular...
متن کاملRegular splicing languages and subclasses
Recent developments in the theory of finite splicing systems have revealed surprising connections between long-standing notions in the formal language theory and splicing operation. More precisely, the syntactic monoid and Schützenberger constant have strong interaction with the investigation of regular splicing languages. This paper surveys results of structural characterization of classes of ...
متن کاملBalanced Grammars and Their Languages
Balanced grammars are a generalization of parenthesis grammars in two directions. First, several kind of parentheses are allowed. Next, the set of right-hand sides of productions may be an infinite regular language. XML-grammars are a special kind of balanced grammars. This paper studies balanced grammars and their languages. It is shown that there exists a unique minimal balanced grammar equiv...
متن کاملNative-like Event-related Potentials in Processing the Second Language Syntax: Late Bilinguals
Background: The P600 brain wave reflects syntactic processes in response to different first language (L1) syntactic violations, syntactic repair, structural reanalysis, and specific semantic components. Unlike semantic processing, aspects of the second language (L2) syntactic processing differ from the L1, particularly at lower levels of proficiency. At higher L2 proficiency, syntactic violatio...
متن کاملAlgebraic Characterization of the Finite Power Property
We give a transparent characterization, by means of a certain syntactic semigroup, of regular languages possessing the finite power property. Then we use this characterization to obtain a short elementary proof for the uniform decidability of the finite power property for rational languages in all monoids defined by a confluent regular system of deletion rules. This result in particular covers ...
